Melissa found yoga after looking for alternative ways to help manage the tremendous anxiety & stress that used to overwhelm her. After experiencing the deep healing & joy that came with practicing, she began to see the way the yoga movements & breath are also a means to connect with each other and all that we revere. With a desire to help others, she enrolled in a Power Yoga training, under the guidance of Fred Busch, where she was educated extensively in Power Yoga as well as Vinyasa Flow, Meditation and Pranayama. Melissa also has a strong knowledge and appreciation for the Healing Sequences of yoga, often drawing upon these modification many times during her classes to ensure the comfort and safety of all those who practice with her. While Melissa loves sharing her enthusiasm for more active & energetic vinyasa flow classes, her heart lies in soothing the effects of stress in the body with Restorative Yoga as well as leading Chair Yoga classes for seniors.
Melissa is (E-RYT) 200hr Yoga Alliance certified, Strala Yoga certified, Restorative Yoga certified and Anatomy & Yoga Therapeutics certified. She has also been trained in Iyengar, Hot Yoga, Yin, Prenatal & Kids Yoga as well as being a Reiki practitioner.
Always leading from the heart, her classes often playfully integrate creative vinyasa sequences with meditation, good music and a lightheartedness to keep you moving consistently at ease with intention.
